Research & learning

Reuben College provides an enriching academic experience that complements and enhances a student's departmental activities. A vibrant programme of opportunities and initiatives enables students to engage with a wide range of people across different disciplines and sectors of knowledge, and to develop fruitful relationships with the University's experts in public engagement, entrepreneurship, and gardens, libraries and museums.

Our aim is to create a community of scholars who embrace opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, engage in innovative activity, and develop creative initiatives to generate wider impacts and positive benefits from research.

Academic life is organised around four research themes through which intellectual exchange is facilitated in workshops, lectures, seminars, reading groups and other initiatives:

  • Ethics & Values
  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
  • Cellular Life
  • Environmental Change

Core strategic themes underpin the academic, social and extracurricular life of the college, and are reflected in our events, policies, facilities and services. These are:

  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Public Engagement with Research
