Biography

As an independent AI governance researcher with a long-standing interest in the convergence of technology and the humanities (particularly philosophy and applied ethics), there is nothing I find more intellectually stimulating than scrutinising significant societal and ethical worries raised by the transformative power of AI. As a result, I have strong aspirations of establishing a career in AI policy, with the ultimate aim of helping steer the regulation and long-term ramifications of AI towards optimal societal benefit.

Some of my current research interests include: (1) the open-source vs. proprietary model debate (assessing the risks and benefits of both sides); (2) the democratisation of AI development (contemplating how we can/should go about integrating public opinions into the development cycle of AI); (3) moral decision-making procedures in driverless vehicles (evaluating how such vehicles should react in dilemma situations); (4) responsibility and liability issues surrounding highly-agentic systems; (5) international coordination/cooperation problems with respect to AI regulation.
